Butt out!

I am now convinced the neighbours are trying to kill our dog. They emptied their entire ashtray right in from of the apartment building! Shinobi managed to get a butt in her mouth before spitting it out in disgust! Freaked out slightly as I know the butts can kill little dogs and she's still really tiny. I have brushed her teeth and she seems fine...Grr I want to get out of here!

Apartment living...

Our neighbours are getting uppetty about us having a dog - purely because she's a dog (no noise/fouling complaints). This is pure maliciousness as far as I can see. We've never really left her alone, having the Christmas holiday off etc. The longest she's ever been alone is about 3 hours in the 2 months we've had her and as far as we know she slept the whole time (no noise upon approaching apartment).

The feeling of dog hatred around here is unmistakeable and causing me rather a lot of stress. Unfortunately we have to open both our door and the foyer door to get outside, this makes a slight door opening noise and is the only slight noise she has caused upon living here.

Comments include:-

'This is beginning to really p*ss me off' (in regard to us walking past them)

'Those guys have a bloody dog!' (Said in an exageratedly horrified tone, as though we were hauling a dead body into our apartment)

and general curtain twitching and nasty looks.

I may be over reacting but this is beginning to p*ss me off! Shinobi is a good dog, she's quiet and she hardly ever barks and has only Shiba screamed once (when the door accidently hit her bottom and scared/hurt her).

Maybe I am being unreasonable having a dog in an apartment - it's certainly beginning to feel that way.

Suffice to say we're looking at houses next time, apartment living is claustrophobic. Especially as our closest neighbours spend their entire time loudly having sex or loudly arguing. Maybe I should complain about that!

Shinobi Monster

We took Shinobi to Gwythian Beach to see some seals (from a high cliff top). It all started off so well, with Shinobi walking very politely on her leash, right by our feet...All changed when the wind picked up and she caught the scent of seals! She became a little gremlin beast and refused to be handled, jumping and twisting and growling and biting like she meant it. Good job the seals were far below us or we could have had a seal massacre on our hands! Shinobi seems to love everyone she meets and insists on going up to every stranger and licking their hands and shaking with happiness. A social shiba?

Still not convinced the car is a good idea...

Outside

On Monday Shinobi will finally be allowed outside. It feels like we've had her cooped up in our apartment forever, aside from going to work I also feel like I've been cooped up in our apartment forever! Because of her UTI the vet advised us not to use Advocate on her until Monday, lungworm is fairly prevelant in our area so I have been nervous about taking her outside to do her business as she eats everything she sees and there are hundreds of slugs here! From Monday I will be able to relax a little about her health and her little puppy immune system, which will hopefully be top notch now. I'm looking forward to taking her to the beach the most as she just loves to dig!

UTI

Poor Shibby has a UTI (we think - vet was 70% certain, reaaal reassuring). She ate up her antibiotics no problem however, as we combined her first cheese experience with the antibiotic administration! (Evil genius). She's not feeling so hot so wants cuddles...

Staying on the theme of sleepy...

Shinobi peed in her bed last night, and when I got back from work today she was so excited she peed all over me! Is this normal? Poor puppy...
