Safety Snoz

With the darker evenings fast drawing in we thought Snoz could do with a high viz jacket.

Snoz strongly begs to differ.
She will not walk with her jacket on, instead she bites at it and shakes and refuses to move! She even discovered where the velcro was and carefully undid part of it.

Snoz's naughty smug half grin.
We went to Lydford Gorge and posed underneath the White Lady Falls.

Clearly a money dog; Snoz rubbed herself along the whole money tree.

Braver then she was before; Snoz ventured down to the loud Devils Cauldron waterfalls and took a good look! (Before getting spooked and running for her life!)

The Godolphin Arms in Marazion had great service for dogs! Snoz was given her own personal water bowl and a plate of treats.

The royal treatment!

Exeter Sight Seeing

Seeing some sights with ol' Snoz up in my hometown of Exeter. She seemed to enjoy people watching. It was fun when people recognised her as a Shiba. Especially one Japanese student who said seeing a Shiba made his day and reminded him of his two Shiba back home! She was pretty spoiled with attention today.

Posing comically as the Cathedral bells started tolling

Snoz thinks she makes a better unicorn

Disapproving look

Admiring (beef treats, not the Cathedral)

St Ives, Carbis Bay and Lelant

Yesterday was the only sunny day we've had on our holiday. We took advantage of the weather to spend the day in the beautiful town of St Ives. We parked in Carbis Bay and walked the short 1 and half mile coast path to St Ives. The path follows the little railway line and offers beautiful views out over the sea. On a clear day it's possible to see right over to Gwythian Lighthouse and, beyond that, Carn Brea in Redruth.

Although dogs are banned on the biggest beaches in St Ives until October, there are designated dog friendlies year round. St Ives is always teaming with people and their dogs so it's a great place to socialise.

One of the best views

The approach from Carbis Bay

St Ives was having a festival on Saturday 'A September Celebration of Arts and Music' Snoz loved this harp

Not dog friendly at the moment but we sat on the promenade here overlooking the beach (until Snoz got upset because she wanted to dig and paddle so we moved on)

The dog friendly beach around the corner; Bamaluz.

It's a little bit of a climb

There are rough steps cut into the stone face, a great place to sit and catch some rays

Snoz was happy to sit and look down on the other dogs. Queen of Shiba!

It's not clear in this photo but a seal was swimming back and forth. Snoz was too scared to go and say hi!

Gwythian Lighthouse

Part of the festival, bag pipe players doing their version of Amazing Grace. Snoz was surprisingly unfazed.

We met a lot of dogs yesterday. We still have problems with Springer Spangles, for some reason they always try to attack her, maybe they think she's a fox? Snoz likes other Spitz's most of all. We witnessed a Rotweiller have a run in with a little Jack Russel which was a little upsetting but aside from that all socialisations of a dog nature were positive (and luckily Snoz didn't notice the fight).

Penryn, Flushing and Falmouth

Day one of a ten day holiday! Showing a friend the local walks. Snoz got to do an epic walk, have a boat trip, sit in two cafes and play with lots of other dogs!

She's pretty flippin' happy about it too

She was a really good girl. The man at the cafe gave her treats and she deserved them.

I'm still not feeling fantastic and the evenings are drawing in at around 8pm now. I'm working long days at work for a while so Snoz is not having quite the long full summer evening walks she was getting accustomed to. It'll only be for another week though and then I have a holiday! So I don't feel too badly about it.

Our evening walk tonight, gentle but interesting!
